Sunday Workshop: "What it takes to get better" ("what it takes to git gut")
In this workshop we will take a look at what it takes to become a better fencer. We will start with everything BUT technique. Years of competitive fencing, coaching other fencers and working as a personal trainer has given me a lot of insight in how to become a better fencer. We will do several drills based around certain principles or ideas that you can take with you to your own training.
After this we will go a bit deeper into how to train a technique. Where it often starts as a set of movements, with the right drills it can become a solid addition to your skillset. We will use the Durchwechseln as the core technique and will go through movement, set up and application of the technique. working all the way up to sparring / higher intensity drills to try and get you as much a possible from a textbook movement to a tournament ready skill.
Gear Minimum: Mask, longsword, throat guard, (light) gloves
